On the Free plan, RoleScan does not collect, transmit, or store any data outside your own browser.
- All job postings you save are stored locally using
chrome.storage.local, scoped to your browser profile on your device. - No data is sent to any server on the Free plan — there is no backend, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. RoleScan Pro adds optional cloud backup and sync, which necessarily involves sending your saved jobs to a server; that feature will have its own clear disclosure here once it launches.
- The extension reads the text of the page you're on only when you click its toolbar button, to extract job details. It does not read pages you haven't explicitly clicked it on.
- Uninstalling the extension permanently deletes all locally stored data — there is no copy anywhere else, unless you've opted into Pro sync.

No host_permissions are requested — the extension never has standing access to any website. It can only read a page at the moment you click its toolbar button on that page (activeTab), and that access ends when you navigate away.
